About Me

My name is Will Hogan and I am a musician / guitar teacher in the Basingstoke area. I have been playing guitar for over 50 years and have played in bands since I was 12 years old.

The music I have played ranges from pop through to rock / metal and the bands from Semi-pro to Pro. Until December 2019 I was playing in a London based heavy rock band called NTA on the local pub circuit in the Hampshire / Berkshire / Surrey/London area. I am now putting together my own metal band .

I started playing at a very early age and am self taught, both on guitar and keyboards. Initially I was playing at school dances and working Men’s Clubs in the north of England. In the mid 70’s I had a very successful Prog Rock band called Azel. With this band I played all over the UK. This was followed by more stints on the Working Men’s Club circuit in the north. This was interrupted when I went to live in Holland and then the USA. when I moved back to the UK from the USA I played on the rock circuit in the South.

Teaching

I have been teaching guitar for many years from my private studio with great success. I do not specialise in any particular style of music when teaching students and let them choose what they want to learn. Styles cover a wide range including contemporary pop, classic pop (50’s/60’s/70’s/80’s), Rock, Metal and Folk. You can read more about this on my guitar teaching website-

I also teach musical theory to students who require this but most students simply want to learn to play or to improve their current skills.
